Art Against AIDS® 2008 is hosted by Heartland Alliance. The show features live and silent fine art auctions of 75 pieces in a variety of mediums. The proceeds from the event help Heartland Alliance's HIV/AIDS programs and services, including primary care, referrals, assistance with transportation and lab costs, housing, alternative therapies such as chiropractic treatment and massage therapy, HIV prevention education, and oral health care.
Heartland Alliance for Human Needs and Human Rights has been committed to providing health care and supportive services for people living with HIV/AIDS for more than twenty years. Through housing advocacy and assistance, support groups and counseling, primary medical care, oral health care, and prevention and harm reduction education, Heartland's HIV-related programs work in tandem serving thousands of men and women affected by this disease.
The month-long exhibition includes paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculpture created and donated by artists from all over the United States.
