Global Medic's Call to Artists

"Worst in years"; "worst in decades"; "worst ever"; these phrases have been used to describe the many catastrophes of 2007. Spanning from Sub-Saharan Africa to southern China to South America, they have devastated some of the poorest communities in the world and exasperated the already dire living conditions.
Members of the David McAnthony Gibson Foundation GlobalMedic Rapid Response Team deployed on 11 international missions last year to serve these communities. While we are proud of the outstanding and selfless achievements of our volunteers, we must always be prepared for the challenges ---that lay ahead.
On the evening of May 2, 2008, the Auction Committee of GlobalMedic will hold its fundraising auction event to provide funds for future deployments. As GlobalMedic has no overhead, all funds raised will go straight to emergency programs.
While the event provides for a variety of interesting activities, the main attraction will be the auction and raffle of high quality items contributed by generous local and national retailers, manufacturers and distributors.
The first thing that comes to mind for me is -ART! This is a call to all artists who are willing and able to donate their artwork to help make our banquet a success. We would be grateful for any contribution that you can make so that Global Medic will be able to continue to deliver high quality health care, disaster relief, capacity building, water dispensing, and search and rescue missions to as many natural disasters that the world may encounter as possible.
All contributors are given full recognition in our program receiving excellent exposure, and you can take pride in the fact that you have helped to support this important local and international need.
