The Modern Batik Art Workshop Outreach Program is committed to promote and teach Modern Batik Art and create partnerships between corporate, arts and educational communities to assist youth in artistic self-expression. The Outreach Program provides students with the opportunity to appreciate, and develop their latent artistic talent, which will enhance their self-esteem, self-confidence, self-discipline, and establish a foundation and interest for more knowledge through education and training in order to enhance their life skills.

Drawing from his life growing up in East Africa, David ran youth workshops and took part by donating his art to benefit the "Hope Initiative"(2005), a collaboration between World Vision Canada, and Artistic Canada. This charitable initiative aimed to provide care and advocacy programs for children affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa, David began to look within to see what else he could do with out. In August 2007, David founded the Lumu Kabasindi Foundation. The LKF would be his way of directly fundraising and aiding orphans of HIV/AIDS in Uganda.

"The Lumu Kabasindi Foundation is a tribute to my parents, Bossa Lumu and Kajoka Kabasindi, who loved and helped other children that were not part of our family. I am a very lucky person that my parents gave me love and education which has made it possible for me to be the kind of person that l am today". David Kibuuka.

Please join the Lumu Kabasindi Foundation for a Night of Wine and Art on Saturday April 26th to help make David's passion for art and aid come alive.
