MotiveArt Fragments Competition
Posted under Art, |
We continue to have a large number of entries to consider for the contest results. The short list is actually quite long and I have had to ask Becky Maynard of No More Land Mines to assist me in deciding on our winners as we continue to have difficulties choosing from the large number of wonderful entries that have been submitted.
Here is our creative writing entry for today by Neelam Solanki
Fear
I walk slowly. With fear in every step I take.
I look around me. It seems safe enough.
Why am I even scared?
The war has ended for the world
For us however, it will never end.
Only the lives of millions of innocent civilians.
I remember my friends as I walk.
Tears trickle down my face.
Is life really worth living like this?
I hear a loud noise in the distance.
I feel a deep heart-ache. Another few lives lost!
Tears fall faster and faster as I see the
destruction around me.
As I think the world falls quiet. A bit too quiet
Then suddenly BANG!
I feel the pain. I see my blood. But will I survive?
I slowly shut my eyes from this devastation world around me forever!

Reviewing the conditions of the contest there are two themes; Fragments - a study of small parts that make up a whole, and the second choice is Survivors - things or people that survive hardship.
We have had a great deal of writing and some wonderful drawings, but only one sculpture from Vikesh Puri. Thank you Vikesh
The contest is divided into two age groups - under 12, and 12 to 18. Prizes are allocated to each age group for first and second place.
Under 12: First place - £100, Second place - £50
12 to 18: First place - £150, Second place - £100
A winner and runner-up from each of the two age catagories will be chosen by January 30, 2008 and the announcement made on the 31st of January 2008
Stay tuned for the results and thank you all for your submittions.
