No Strings

While MOTIVE has worked with artists and charities to help remove landmines and make the world a safer place for those victimized by war, we also want to help make the world a better and safer place for generations to come. A team of talented artists and performers known as No Strings is working globally to do just that.
No Strings uses puppets to educate children, providing safety messages to those who live in areas affected by landmines, and teaching children how to prepare for earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, and floods in Indonesia.
From the No Strings website:
"We know that puppets can really grab children's attention and get them to listen," says writer/director Kathy Mullen, one-time Principal Performer with The Muppet Show. "It worked on television in the West - why not use this incredible tool to teach kids living in dangerous places how to be safe?
"Children are deeply engaged by puppets and they will hang on their every word. We've carried out a similar programme in Afghanistan with our No Strings landmine-awareness film, and it's been a phenomenal success. With so many terrible natural disasters taking place in Indonesia, and with such alarming frequency, we believe we can really make a difference to how children there cope."
No Strings has been featured on the BBC in the UK and on CBC in Canada. One of the founders of No Strings, Johnie McGlade, filmed an exclusive piece for CBC's The Hour, which can be found here: http://www.cbc.ca/thehour/video.php?id=1208
We're very glad to feature the founders and performers of No Strings as a MOTIVE Artist, and hope to update you on their continuing efforts.
